Day 175: What might have been lost


from the Wolves (Act I & II)

We were serenaded last night at Town Hall by Bon Iver, aka Justin Vernon. Justin had a "Bon Iver" (good winter) in 2007 when he headed to a remote cabin in Northern Wisconsin for 3 months to recover from multiple ills and came back to Eau Claire, Wisconsin with the stellar album, For Emma, Forever ago. What the performance last night lacked in pretension it offered back in unbridled energy, gratitude and the most incredibly transportive gift of art. The encore of the night, Wolves Act I and 2 resulted in the entire audience singing along with the band the poignantly parting lines, "what might have been lost".
