yay brooklyn!
We gathered in a local sports bar this morning, which had no shortage of televisions for the masses that appeared. Spirits were high, cheers were shouted, claps resounded, Cheney was booed and we all stepped into the wide-open future that today is. I am moved by the remarkable difference that this historic inauguration contains, its creative potential, its breaking from the past. I loved being swept up into the positive emotions that filled the neighborhood and were beaming out of Washington D.C. Joy is contagious.
I look forward to tomorrow and the coming days. The presence of music and poetry, the outpouring of support and elation en masse, all signaled that change is materializing.
