When I saw the film Old Joy more than two years ago, I remember leaving the theatre feeling as though the film had been completely made by the soundtrack (by Yo La Tengo). Off and on since then I have been emailing the band website to see when it might finally be released. After many delayed promises, yesterday was the day (along with soundtracks to 3 other films on the same cd).
I had secretly dreamed that this most amazing music would be released in the fall, since the music simply is this season. I couldn't be more joyful about it. If you need a soundtrack for the season, give it a try, Leaving Home, is the score that has captured my heart.
